Waste Reduction Objectives
- To develop a whole school approach to the management of waste, to enable positive environmental outcomes, which address the practises and principles of the Essential Learning profiles.
Actions
- Whole school 4R's plan has been developed and put in place.
- Glass, plastic, aluminium and paper are sorted for recycling.
- Cardboard, paper, food scraps and bark are used in composting, worm farming, paper making and mulching.
- Worm farm produce to be used to enhance plant growth.
- Students to facilitate the whole program, including the collection from recycling bins on riverside.
Outcomes
- 4R's embraced enthusiastically by the whole school, with a plan established and implemented.
- Student enterprise activities such as paper making and worm farming were a success.
