Demolition Waste

Waste materials derived from the demolition of buildings, roads, etc including dirt, clay, concrete, bricks, tiles, paving materials, and timber.

A ready market exists for surplus and second-hand building materials. Dealers will usually pay for valuable items.

Around the home, think about re-use - for example, even surplus dirt can be stockpiled for later use as landscaping material.

Otherwise, there are many avenues for disposal including re-use merchants, charities, or your local Tip-Shop or recycling centre. Many local Councils charge a reduced rate for clean demolition waste.

In business, demolition waste can be reduced by adopting a waste reduction plan for new developments, aimed at minimizing and re-using waste materials as much as possible. Check the specific Building/ Demolition Waste hints if your business generates such wastes.
