Liquid Paper Board

Milk and juice cartons, including long-life cartons, are made from liquid paperboard (LPB) - plastic-coated cardboard, sometimes with an additional layer of foil.

Milk cartons can be re-used to grow seedlings for your garden, or for storing waste cooking fat.

14% of LPB is recycled (Association of Liquidpaperboard Cartons Manufacturers, 1997), with the cardboard component separated and used to make paper.

Kerbside collections are operated in most areas of southern Tasmania - check with your local Council. To recycle - rinse and squash flat, place cartons inside each other to save space.
