Other metal scrap is best segregated into ferrous and non-ferrous types, in order to gain the best return from recyclers. Individual recyclers may not accept scrap containing a mixture of metals, plastics and other materials - ring and ask them first.

Ferrous

Metals and alloys whose major constituent is iron, including cast iron, wrought iron, and steel.

Non-ferrous

Metals other than iron and steel, such as aluminium, brass, bronze, copper, lead and zinc etc.
