Used motor lubricating oil and the oil filters from vehicles, mowers, outboards etc can be recycled/ re-processed.

Many landfills, and a number of businesses will accept this material, and the Hobart City Council is currently coordinating a Waste Oil Recovery program throughout the region, to standardize promotion, signage and collection facilities.
